What is JKPDA?

JKPDA is a platform for the Research, Development, Commercialisation and Innovation (R,D,C&I) eco-system. Everyone from the Government, Industry, Academia, Entrepreneur and “the RAKYAT” will find JKPDA’s Smart Tools useful in many ways.

Does JKPDA has funds to offer?

 

JKPDA does not offer any funding to anyone or any organisation. However, we offers information on funds available through our XPLORER tool. Users can also apply for funds from participating ministry/agency through FUNDING tool, if available.

Who is behind JKPDA?

 

The administrator of JKPDA is Jawatankuasa Pelaburan Dana Awam (JKPDA) Secretariat– A specialised secretariat to drive the restructuring, streamlining and strengthening of public innovation funding mechanism for Research, Development, Commercialisation & Innovation (R,D,C&I). It operates under the Agensi Inovasi Malaysia (AIM) Governance Council.

REGISTRATION

Can I use the JKPDA’s Smart Tools without signing up?

 

YES, you can! However, you will not have full access to some of the tools such as XPLORERFUNDINGBIZ PLAN and SURVEY. We encourage you to Sign Up to enjoy the full benefit of JKPDA. Signing up with us is FREE, after all!

How do I Sign Up and have an account with JKPDA?

 

Follow these steps and you will have an account:

  1. Go to Sign Up
  2. Enter Title, Name, Email Address, Confirm Email Address and Password and Confirm Password.
  3. Click Sign Up.
  4. To finish creating your account, you’ll need to confirm your email.

If you already have a JKPDA account, you can log into your account

Note: you must be at least 13 years old to create a JKPDA account. Get assistance from your parents/teachers if you are below 13 years old.

           

How do I finish creating my JKPDA account and confirm my email?

 

To finish creating an account, you need to confirm that you own the email that you used to create the account:

To confirm your email, click or tap the link in the email you got when you created the account. Learn what to do if you can’t find the email.

You are required to update your profile upon successful confirming email.

I can’t find my JKPDA sign up confirmation email.

 

If you Sign Up with an email, we sent a confirmation link to that email. If you can’t find your confirmation email:

  • Check your junk mail folder. If you’re using Gmail, check your Social emails.
  • Make sure that you entered the correct email. If you entered the wrong email, you can change it and send the email again.

What is in MyProfile?

 

It holds all your information and is accessible at the top right corner of any JKPDA page and select MyProfile

  • GENERAL INFORMATION

This is where your basic information such as you name and citizenship is captured. You can update the information and save it by clicking on the Update Profile button.

  • PASSWORD

If you know your current password, you can change it here.

  • ORGANISATION

You can register all the organisation that you are attached to, to ease the entry when using the BIZ PLAN and FUNDING tools.

How do I change or reset my password?

 

If you know your current password, you can change it:

  1. Click in the top right corner of any JKPDA page and select MyProfile.
  2. Click Password tab.
  3. Enter Old Password, New Password and Confirm New Password.
  4. Click Change Password next to Reset.

If you don’t know your current password, you can reset it:

  1. Go to Log In Page
  2. Click on Forgot Password below the Log In
  3. Enter Email Address and click Reset Password.
  4. To reset password, click or tap the link in the email you got when you reset password.

Update/Delete/Edit Organisation

 

To add new organisation:

  1. Go to Organisation tab.
  2. Click on the Add button.
  3. Fill in all the information.
  4. Click Add New Organisation to add new organisation.

To delete an organisation:

  1. Go to Organisation tab.
  2. Click Edit at the selected organisation.
  3. Click Delete Organisation to delete organisation.

To edit organisation information:

  1. Go to Organisation tab.
  2. Click Edit at the selected organisation.
  3. Update the information.
  4. Click Update Organisation to update organisation.

NOTE: If you have multiple organisation in your profile, you will:

  • be able to Log In using any of the registered emails listed using the same password.
  • be able to choose an organisation from the registered organisation selection in BIZ PLAN and FUNDING.

WRITE FOR US

Can I contribute an article to JKPDA?

 

We welcome any journalist, writer or individuals who are passionate with R,D,C&I and would like to contribute article(s) to JKPDA which will be published in DISCOVER. To control the quality and content of article submitted, we have stringent terms and rules and level of approvals.  Follow these steps to apply as contributor in JKPDA.

  1. Sign up with JKPDA.
  2. Go to JKPDA homepage  and find WRITE FOR US at mid-section of the page. Click Apply Here  Or…
  3. Go to DISCOVER page and find WRITE FOR US at the bottom of the page. Click Apply Here .
  4. Enter Email and Password.
  5. Click Log In to send a request.
  6. You will receive a confirmation email upon successful application.

Please allow 5-7 working days for admin to review the request.

How to contribute article(s) to JKPDA?

 

All registered and screened contributor will have access to write article(s) in JKPDA. Follow these steps to start contributing an article to JKPDA.

  1. Log In to JKPDA.
  2. Click in the top right corner of any JKPDA page and select WRITER’s Log In
  3. Enter ID and set password from the confirmation email.
  4. Click Post
  5. Click Add New to create new post.
  6. Write an article and click on Submit for Review.

Please allow 5-7 working days for admin to review and publish the post.

 

I have lost the email which contain the details and “how to” WRITE FOR US.

XPLORER

What is XPLORER?

It is the R,D,C&I Search engine for Malaysian Innovation Ecosystem. We have seven (7) type of powered engine, consists of:

  • R,D,C&I Funds
  • R,D,C&I Facilities
  • Expert Database
  • IP Den
  • Reports & Journals
  • Start-Ups
  • MIDA i-incentives

What are the special feature of the XPLORER?

This tool allows user to compare up to three (3) records of information.

Who provides the source of information?

Our team collects all data directly from an organisation, as well as secondary data sources.

How often does the data being updated?

New data will be added on an adhoc basis but data clean-up is done at least once a year.

Can I be part of XPLORER?

Please contact admin at admin@1dana.gov.my and we will provide a template for you to update the details. Send the complete data back to us and we will upload the information into our database.

SCOREBOARD

What is SCOREBOARD?

 

Innovation SCOREBOARD is a platform in JKPDA to display and compare the statistic of global, regional, continental and local innovation performance.

Why only selected countries are in the statistics?

 

The main objective of showcasing these statistics is to see Malaysia’s position among the top performers.

Contact us  if you would like to suggest more countries to be part of the comparison.

What is the source of all the statistics display?

 

The statistics data came from various sources such as World Bank , our local Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), survey conducted through our SURVEY  and many others. You can find the sources labelled at the bottom of chart(s).

How do I use the SCOREBOARD?

 

  1. Click on SCOREBOARD on top of the JKPDA website navigation.
  2. Search indicator using keywords. Or…
  3. Search using the Advance Search.
  4. Select search parameters from option given.
  5. Click Search to get result.

Tips:

  1. Click on the country in the legend to select/unselect the country’s statistics
  2. Choose Global for Global statistics or ASEAN for ASEAN region statistics or Malaysia for Malaysia’s statistics.

How do I request for the statistical data?

 

You do not have to request for our statistical data. A link to Download Data is provided below the graph, after the analysis. You can choose data in PDF or in Excel table or even API to be used in another software/system.

FUNDING

What is FUNDING?

 

FUNDING is a platform to centralised all public funding application. It allows fund manager to build and custom the application form according to each program and for applicant to track all applications under one roof.

Who can apply for funding?

Applicant’s eligibility is depending on each program. Each program will have its own requirement i.e. company or individuals.

How to apply for funding?

  1. Click on FUNDING on top of the JKPDA website navigation.
  2. Choose Program that suits your project phase .
  3. Click View to view the details of the program.
  4. Click Apply.
  5. Enter Email and Password.
  6. Click Log In.
  7. Start filling up the application form and click Save at each point.
  8. Check the T&C and submit once completed.

I have save my application and would like to continue filling up the application form.

  1. Go to Log In to JKPDA.
  2. Enter Email and Password.
  3. Click Log In.
  4. Click on FUNDING  on top of the JKPDA website navigation.
  5. Click on List of Application tab.
  6. Choose the Program that you have applied.
  7. Under Action, choose Edit.
  8. Start filling up the application form and click Save at each point.
  9. Check the T&C and submit once completed.

How do I track the status of my Application?

 

  1. Go to Log In to JKPDA.
  2. Enter Email and Password.
  3. Click Log In.
  4. Click on FUNDING  on top of the JKPDA website navigation.
  5. Click on List of Application tab.
  6. Choose the Program that you have applied.
  7. Under Action, choose Progress.

Fund manager will update the status from time to time and you will see the progress of your application and the estimated process time.

How long will I get the result of my fund application?

The application duration varies by program and fund manager. You can check the application status by checking it online.

When is the right time to apply for fund?

Each program has its own campaign period. You can check at FUNDING page for programs that are open for applications.

Can I apply for the same fund more than one time?

  1. One ID can only submit one application.

Can I apply multiple funds concurrently?

Yes. You are able to do it. However, you have to fill in application forms respectively.

My organisation is from outside the Government circle but I have fund to give out to the R,D,C&I eco-system. Can I use this platform to open the application?

Yes. You can Contact Us  and we will be in contact.

How will I know which fund to apply?

Most of the program will be determined by project phase  and sector. We suggest that you go through the fund details in XPLORER  and do a comparison (hyperlink to comparison FAQ).

Note: Not all funds will open its campaign through FUNDING, so it is best to check on both FUNDING and the program’s individual website.

Go to XPLORER to get more details on the program including its individual’s website (if any).

BIZ PLAN

What is BIZ PLAN?

 

BIZ PLAN is a tools for start-ups, SME, research, scientist, high-school students to create a business plan using the template provided. Our template are driven by industry standard templates and users can use it for FREE.

Who can use the BIZ PLAN?

ANYONE who are registered with JKPDA! Individual who are attached with multiple organisation can customised BIZ PLAN for each organisation accordingly. Learn more on adding organisation in your profile here.

How to use the BIZ PLAN?

  1. Click on BIZ PLAN on top of the JKPDA website navigation.
  2. Click My Biz Plan Dashboard or Create Biz Plan.
  3. Enter Email and Password.
  4. Click Log In to access the Biz Plan Dashboard.

Is there any fee charges for using BIZ PLAN?

It is FREE for limited time only. Hurry up and start using the BIZ PLAN today!

What is My Biz Plan Dashboard?

This is where…

LISTING – It will list all your BIZ PLAN created. You will be allowed to EDIT or even DELETE if no longer needed. To ease the process, user can also DUPLICATE to make a copy of the BIZ PLAN and all details will be copied over from the original BIZ PLAN.

SHARE LIST – It will list all your BIZ PLAN that has been shared with you.

REQUEST – 1DANA provides BIZ PLAN Sample for other user’s viewing. While some samples are originated from the admin, there are also samples BIZ PLAN from JKPDA user’s records. With this, Admin will request from the Individuals to allow sharing their BIZ PLAN as sample. The request tab will list request from admin, if any.

SAMPLE – It will list all BIZ PLAN sample for JKPDA registered user’s viewing.

FEEDBACK – Is where user can send us feedback on how we can improve BIZ PLAN.

SURVEY

What is SURVEY?

SURVEY in JKPDA is targeted to be the “go to” place for researcher, scientist, engineers, entrepreneurs, universities and students among other to conduct R,D,C&I related online survey to collect statistical data at their fingertips. With simple steps to follow, survey creator can easily create a survey and even tap on JKPDA traffic who are mainly the people from R,D,C&I ecosystem to participate in the survey. You can also opt to share your survey results in our SCOREBOARD.

How to Create SURVEY?

  1. Sign up with JKPDA.
  2. Click on SURVEY on top of the JKPDA website navigation.
  3. Click CREATE A SURVEY.
  4. Enter Email and Password.
  5. Click Log In to send a request.
  6. You will receive a confirmation email upon successful application.

Please allow 5-7 working days for admin to review the request.

Note: Not all JKPDA user will be granted to access conducting survey through JKPDA to protect JKPDA branding and interest on R,D,C&I.

Can I get JKPDA user database to send the survey that I’ve created?

Due to data policy, we do not disseminate our database to anyone. However, there is an option to select “Send to JKPDA User” when creating survey from the SURVEY application.

Can I share the result of my survey?

YES, we appreciate sharing of information or even results to the survey that you have created. However, a brief screening and proofing will be done before we can publish the result.

MYDANA

What is MYDANA?

MYDANA is a government operating tools to evaluate, track the performance of all R,D,C&I projects and program that are funded by the Government and report generator.

Who has the access to MYDANA?

Only Government servant who are part of the R,D,C&I eco-system will have access to MYDANA. Users are pre-registered by the admin to control the accessibility of MYDANA.
